Guerlain’s new collection for the festive season is a thing of great beauty. Although there are a few pieces on offer, some of them really caught my eye. First up is the stunning eyeshadow quad, Les Ombres de Nuit. Three iridescent shades, mint green, a delicious shimmery beige and a moody midnight blue, and one matte shade, smoldering black. As usual, the quad design and packaging is just downright lustful, even at 28BD (55e) I don’t know if I will be able to fight the urge to own this..
Next up is Vol de Nuit, a perfumed face and body shimmer. Yes, perfumed.. interesting! As a huge fan of body shimmer, my current fave being Nuxe Golden Shimmer , this really interests me. The fact that it’s a perfume and a shimmer is quite clever, and just look at the bottle, gorgeous intricately designed metal and heavy glass, it reminds me of the amazing potions my Grandmother used to have, true old school glamour. Expensive though, at 40bd! (78e)
Perles de Nuit is also gorgeously packaged, illuminating pearl metorites encased in an intricate rosette covered pot, a design that has become synonymous with Guerlain of late. The different shades of pearl promise to illuminate, correct and even out skin tone in one feld swoop. Although I’m sure it will illuminate, the other claims are questionable. I also usually find these kind of products quite finnicky to use, my last venture into something similar was Natural Collection bronzing balls back in oh.. 1998?!
The last mentionable is of course, lippy! I know some serious lipstick addicts check in on this blog from time to time so it would be rude not to give Guerlain’s offering some air time. Having been lucky enough to indulge in some of their lipsticks in the past, I can attest that they are worth investing in. Just look at the prettiness! Two shades are available in this collection at 22bd a pop (42e); 169 Flirt d’un Jour, a soft luminous pink and 170 Nuit d’Amour, a black red that turns deep plum on the lips.
Probably one of my favourite Christmas collections so far, Guerlain done good! Do you like this festive offering? Or is there a particular collection that’s caught your eye already?
