Bobbi Brown makeup haul

Yeah, I was hauling again as American people say. I really don’t like the word haul. Is there another word we can use? 🙂

‘I’ve been shopping’ just doesn’t sound quite as good, does it? Anyways, let’s get on with it! I have some new makeup and it’s all from Bobbi Brown. I accumulated it over the last few weeks so I’ve already slapped most of it on my face, with varying degrees of success.

Bobbi Brown Sparkle Eyeshadow Cement

It started when I read this post on Into The Gloss. I decided that Amy Kothari was extremely cool and I wanted the things she had recommended, particularly Bobbi Brown Sparkle Eyeshadow in Cement (above). It’s a super sparkly, dirty grey shade that I really love even though bits of glitter end up underneath my eyes. Glitter is always good, right? Yes.
I also grabbed another Sparkle Eyeshadow when I was in the store, Smokey Quartz (below) – a sensational, dark chocolatey brown/bronze with slices of gold running through it. Although it’s really pigmented you need to apply two solid layers before all the good stuff becomes visible.

Next, concealer. I have a love/hate relationship with Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer. I was all for it a few years ago before they changed the formula. I feel like the new formula doesn’t blend as well and just loves sinking into the fine lines around my eyes – anyone else get that?
I could have done with reminding myself of this recently but instead decided to purchase again after seeing Bobbi use it in a You Tube video. And unsurprisingly, it still sucks. What a shame. I’m really struggling with under eye concealers at the moment and am on to my third one in so many weeks. None of them give me the full-coverage-plastic-doll-effect that I’m looking for! 🙂

Lastly, a newbie – Smokey Lash Mascara. This was actually a press sample and when I saw it, I initially thought ‘meh’. The packaging is so nondescript and really, how can you have a smokey mascara? But, I am nothing if not gracious in defeat people – this mascara is sensational! It’s thick and creamy and coats all the lashes, provides massive volume and separation without clumping and it doesn’t flake during the day. I’m completely in love and have been using it literally every day for the past two weeks.

So there we are, I picked up some other new bits this week and some new Muji storage (hurrah!) so I’ll no doubt be posting that sometime soon.

Simone you don’t need concealer!! You certainly don’t look like you have dark circles under your eyes – I should know as I have full on panda eyes (sadly its genetic, and not due to lack of sleep/nurtrition etc.)
The best eye Concealers are By Terry Touch Expert Also Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer.
The By Terry is very expensive, but highly pigmented and silky smooth. I’ve got very dry and delicate skin – and fair amount of wrinkles! – around my eyes and the By Terry doesn’t settle into my creases.

I was thinking of trying a Bobbi Brown concealer for my under eye circles but I Will stick to my MAC Prolongwear concealer. You should try it. It is fantastic and does not crease.

Hauling Irish stlyie would probably be some makeup messages 😉 !!!

I can’t use BB creamy concealer under my eyes but find it great for redness around nose and mouth. I wish BB would do a concealer and corrector in the one packaging.
I really like the By Terry Touche Veloutee it’s spendy but very good. Just bought Nars creamy concealer and it really is lovely.
Bit more budget friendly is the Revlon ColorStay under eye concealer.
