Why do you use those particular products and do you have a particular philosophy or routine?

I love brands which offer a huge range of products to choose from. My clients come with all ranges of skin tones, from the fairest caucasian models to the darkest indian performer. Professional brands such as M.A.C, Make Up Forever, Illamasqua etc, offer a huge range of base products which I know are sufficient to attend to all my clients.

Not only for foundation products, but also eye and lip products. My job ranges from classic bridal, fashion shows to avant-garde editorials, therefore I need more variety of colours and textures. Only those professional brands can cater to my needs.

How often do you change what’s in your makeup bag?

I change the products in my bag depending on the job requirement. For fashion shows, I mainly pack key products used in the make-up test, as looks are already confirmed by the designer. So basically, I go through the contents in my bag for every job. That is to ensure I have all required stuff and not missing out any. Likewise, reduce unnecessary load by taking out products which I know I won’t be using for that job.

Hygiene is equally important too! Products that are kept in the kit for some time and not using them, I will get them replaced with a newer piece or simply change to another product which I would more frequency use.

Is there a product you can’t live without and regularly re-buy?

So many! Can I list more than one? M.A.C Wipes and M.A.C Prep+Prime Transparent Finishing Powder! They are the staple for all my jobs.

What is the story behind the bag you use? Where did you get it and why do you like it?

I never like traveling from location to location with too much of heavy load, as my back isn’t too healthy to start off with. I won’t prefer trunk cases. My bag is basically weightless when empty and the one huge compartment I can freely pack in the products. I got my current make-up bag at a bag sale in Singapore for around SGD30(15 euro/7BD). It is so durable that I have been using it for almost 2 years! I have another soft case for hair tools and products from MUJI at around SGD60(30 euro/15bd). I love lightweight cases!
