With a long weekend stretching ahead of us, we took ourselves off to Safa Park early this morning for breakfast and a little mooch around. Lots of people refer to it as the Dubai version of Central Park, as its a sprawling open space with acres of grass, trees and lakes. It’s a great spot as although we have a small garden at home, it’s not big enough for Charlie to have a good run around in – so that’s exactly what he did this morning!
After an exhaustive 15 minutes of flinging himself around on the grass, we settled down at The Archive for some breakfast. It’s a cute little cafe/bookstore near gate five with lots of outdoor seating and a nice relaxed vibe. We ordered some fresh croissants, pancakes and juice and while we were waiting for them to arrive, Charlie excitedly pushed around some massive spinning tops that were on the grass, and then of course, tried to climb on top of them.
It was quite hot this morning, even though the weather has cooled down of late. I wore one of my trusty Topshop burnout tee’s, some cheap sunglasses from ASOS and my new Vero Moda floral denim skirt, which I got on sale. Even though the skirt and t-shirt are super light, I was still a sweaty mess by 10.30. Typical, eh?
Later in the morning Charlie started giving everyone the death stare, which you can see above, as he was so tired, so we knew it was time to make our way home. It’s a lovely spot to while away a few hours if you’re in Dubai, and especially great for little kids as it has lots of running around action. That’s all for now peeps, hope you have a lovely weekend whatever you’re doing π
