Weak Moments

The horror of my ever-changing, irritated skin has unfortunately continued into this weekend and is showing no signs of letting up. It’s got so bad that even Mr. G has noticed, although he thought my face was red and blotchy looking because I’d been “using a scrub”. It’s become drier, tighter and even more it itchy (sad face) so there was nothing for it but to splurge on a fail-safe (albeit expensive) cream from Nuxe. I have used this in the past with great success, although quite sparingly as it wasn’t a proper match for my skintone at the time. Now however, my “dry sensitive skin that has been exposed to extreme weather conditions (??)” is all over it.

Aside from the fact that it’s a truly beautiful, lightweight, delicious smelling cream that soothes and calms dry patches, it also appeals to my shallow side. Who doesn’t love a solid, heavy expensive glass jar of face cream? Yes indeed.

I also dropped some moola on ‘Cranberry’ eyeshadow from MAC. Now, I need this like a whole in the head really but the combination of the shade, the fact I haven’t owned it in years and the name itself made me feel all festive and “must have this”. Another moment of weakness occurred later the same evening I bought this, although admittedly it was a planned moment of weakness. Mariyah of was rocking a lovely blingy necklace recently and when she told me it was from H&M, I was on a mission to find it. In the end, the mission involved walking into H&M, scooping it off the display stand and paying for it. Not too difficult really, ha! I’ve worn it with my beloved denim shirt and with plain white tee’s, just to jazz them up a little bit.

Have you had any weak retail moments this week? I’m on the hunt for a few more things, specifically mega glittery nail polish and some printed tee’s from Zara.  Any glittery nail polish recommendations??

China Glaze Glitter Goblin!! A stunning copper glittery varnish, also their liquid crystal, a pearlescent shade. Dollish Polish carry tons of chunky glitter polishes that look (stealing your phrase here) amazeballs over a bold colour. China Glaze i’ve found to be very easy to remove, whereas some brands tend to be a nightmare when you’re talking glitter. Hope i’ve helped. My splurge is yet to come, but i’ve gone for some nuxe micellar foaming cleanser and rose petal toner, can’t wait! x

Hi Simone, just stumbled across your blog whilst googling hydraluron. I’m not getting on with it sadly. My skin is parched and dry/flaky. Then I noticed this post. Would you recommend the Nuxe moisturiser above? I’m using Origins Have A Nice Day cream with SPF and whilst i like it, it leaves a residue on my skin after a few hours (could that be the SPF?).

Oh, and i’m also a glitter polish fiend. Topshop Ice Crush is my new fave!
