The cold climate uniform

I had great fashion plans for my trip home. Tea dresses with tights and ankle booties, leather jackets and skinny jeans, converse and more dresses. Great plans. Didn’t work out though.

Why? Oh, you know – it’s freezing. It rains every five minutes and my hair (going off topic here) looks like shit as a result. No amount of blow drying, product dousing or teasing can stand up to a sudden downpour. What else is there for it, but to embrace the frizz. Look at the state of me!

Anyways, back to the clothes. All my lovely pretty winter gear is still untouched in my suitcase and I am living in some variation of the above; a super comfy grey parka from ASOS which covers my bum thank you very much, the most comfortable dark wash medium rise jeans ever by Denim and Supply, ASOS Chelsea Boots and my trusty Alexander Wang Rockie Bag (which is starting to fall apart I might add, but more on that another time).

As a result of my fashion and hair failings, I have decided to compensate with much makeup shopping. I’m hitting Boots again at the weekend, Brown Thomas, Cara Pharmacy and anywhere else that’s half decent with a reasonable selection of slap. I will most likely be wearing this exact outfit, but you know what? I’m OK with that. I’ve heard the drowned rat look is totally in right now 🙂

Haha drowned rat is probably the most popular look here in Galway so you’re right on trend! I personally like the whole walking marshmallow look to help beat the cold 😉 When I don’t look like the Michelin however man you can see the kind of look I favour here >> http://pingle91.blogspot.ie/2014/01/style-coats-kicks.html

We’ve all looked like Drowned Rats in Ireland since about 15th December, storms nonstop since.
Adore the Alexander Wang Rockie Bag. Enjoy your trip home.
