Rimmel Scandal Eyes Mascara

Initially, when I saw this I was intrigued. Groovy, bright orange packaging and a super chunky new mascara that promises to ‘take your lashes to the next level’? Yes please. Unfortunately, I’m sorry to report that it doesn’t do that, in fact it might even take your lashes down a level, ha!

I’m as big a fan of affordable brand mascara’s as anyone, but this one is very very difficult to use. The brush is HUGE, really really huge. I know I’m prone to dramatics when it comes to describing products so here’s some photographic evidence…

The formula is gloopy but I don’t really mind that, what bothers me is that it’s difficult not to hit the wand off your eyelid when applying it to your lashes as its so massive. If you can get past that the result is ok, but not great. Lengthening, but thats about it. Just average. A shame really as I quite liked Day 2 Night, their last mascara release. Never mind, onwards and upwards!

I initially had the same problem with Bourjois’s Volume Glamour Max as that brush is GIGANTIC and I’m used to tiny brushes. I found looking down into a mirror when applying it stopped it hitting the upper eyelid; I’m glad I persevered as it’s such a good mascara. Thanks for your review on this one as I was curious about it 🙂 xx
