Something I’m going to try and write about a little bit more frequently is the new (and new to me) products I try every month. So, here is my first roundup of my most used (and much loved) products in May and June.
Everything from skincare and sunless tan to lipstick with SPF (plus a device that promises to tighten up my jawline and reduce fine lines).
Shani Darden Facial Sculpting Wand
Every evening after my skincare routine for the last few weeks, I’ve been using Shani Darden’s Sculpting Wand on my jawline, above my eyebrows, and anywhere I have fine lines and wrinkles (there’s a quick clip of me using it here). It’s a device that uses sound wave technology to deeply stimulate muscles, smooth fine lines and boost circulation. After a couple of days of consistent use (10 minutes every evening), I noticed a difference in my jawline and the fine lines above my eyebrows. To say I was shocked would be an understatement. Unsurprisingly, it’s sold out on Cult Beauty right now but still available direct from Shani Darden (just have a look at the reviews on the bottom of the page).
Vita Liberata Body Blur
I can’t put into words how much I love this product. Believe me when I say that I am truly terrible at applying fake tan – but this makes me look like a pro. It’s a creamy, super-pigmented formula that gives the most gorgeous (and instant!) natural result. I squeeze a little bit onto a tanning mitt and smooth over my legs, arms, wherever – just like I would with a moisturiser. Because it’s instant, I can easily spot any patches I’ve missed and go back and correct them – so the finish is always streak-free and even. It doesn’t transfer onto clothes, and there’s no smell – it’s truly magic in a bottle. It’s available in five shades, and I use shade medium.
Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Niacinamide Dew Drops
My newest skincare obsession, Dew Drops, is a multi-tasking wonder. It’s a niacinamide serum that can be used in your regular routine. It’s a primer that can be used before makeup to add glow to the skin. It’s an illuminator that can be mixed with your foundation to create a gorgeous, glowy base. The texture is something else, too; a lightweight gel-cream formula that sinks into the skin and instantly adds glow and hydration. Delicious.
Patchology Hydrogel Masks
If you’ve followed me online for any length of time, you’ll know how much I love Patchology. They’ve recently added Hydrogel Masks to their range; Beauty Sleep for nighttime use infused with retinol and peptides, and Chill Mode for when you need to relax and hydrate. They’re a very recent launch and should be available from Brown Thomas, Arnotts and many pharmacies very soon.
Amanda Harrington Tonal Drops
A brilliant new launch from the Queen of Tan, Amanda Harrington London has been my go-to brand for many years when it comes to a faux glow. Tonal Drops are instant and can be used on the face and body, either applied alone and buffed in or mixed with your regular moisturiser. I particularly love them on the face – I buff a little into the cheeks, forehead and across the bridge of my nose for a natural sun-kissed glow. There are three shades; Rose (the lightest), Honey (medium – the one I use), and Olive (the darkest shade).
Sculpted by Aimee Hydra Lip
The newest launch from Sculpted by Aimee (a brand I’ve really fallen in love with the last couple of months), HydraLip is a gorgeous, nourishing lipstick/balm duo formulated with SPF25 to protect your lips from UV rays. The colour payoff is excellent, and I love the glossy, comfortable finish. There are six shades to choose from, and my favourites are Blush, Peach and Berry.
