Quick Review – MAC Wonder Woman Collection

MAC Wonder Woman Collection finally arrived in the Middle East yesterday so I visited the MAC store for a snoop. Having initially been unimpressed by the information provided about the collection online, I was even more unimpressed when I saw it in the shop.

It just didn’t jump out at me, yeah the quads are nice and its certainly novel that the lipgloss and so on are twice their normal size, but I just thought “meh”. The packaging is also a little tacky.
I picked up Mineralize Skinfinish in Pink Power purely because when I swatched it I quite liked the shades. It also works out pretty good price-wise for the extra 10grams of product.

Here is a comparison in size above between a regular MSF and Pink Power. A regular MSF costs $28 USD for 10 grams, this works out at almost $3 USD a gram. Pink Power & Gold Lariat from the WW collection retail for $35USD for 20grams so its pretty decent.

I quite like the 2 highlighting shades in Pink Power which I have swatched above. The light gold shade on the right of the pan is really very beautiful and shimmery. Great for a highlight on top of the cheekbones. As I said above though, not crazy about the packaging. Or maybe it was the fact that there was tacky paper signs stuck all over the counter that said “pow”, “zap” or was it because the poor girls from MAC were all gusseted up in gold crowns and red slogan tops…
Did any of you buy something from the collection, and if yes, what are your thoughts?

    >I agree, this collection is a bit on the tacky side and was quite disappointing overall given how great the collections generally are.

    >I don't like the packaging either but like the size of things 🙂
I picked Mighty Aphrodite Blush Duo, quite liked the colors. Liked a gloss too but it was sold out.

    >I don't like it at all really, I think the packaging could have been WAY cooler and more sturdy and sleek looking. Also the colours don't thrill me really… in general, a disappointment 🙁

    >I got Marquise D' lipstick because I love the colour and it's LE (I think it's a repromote from Blonde Brunette Redhead collection). But I would've preferred to pay less and have the usual black packaging. I just feel odd pulling out that thing from my make-up bag.

I almost bought Pink Power. The bronzer looked ideal for paler skin, plus the highlighter is lovely, but I eventually talked myself out of it, as I couldn't justify the price for a make-up product that looks like a toy.
