Simone Loves… Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua

I finally caved and bought Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua foundation last week. Everyone was asking me had I used it and what I thought of it, I just couldn’t take the pressure anymore!

As I was investing in a high-end foundation I expected the service to be good. Sadly, it was distinctly lacking. The SA asked me “what shade are you?”. When I said I was unsure as its a new product, much humming and hawwing ensued. I got the feeling she couldn’t be bothered to apply it. When I insisted, I was made to stand at the counter in the wrong light while she patted in on my jawline. I was not asked to sit in the beautiful makeup area for customers. Very disappointing considering the price of the foundation.
Anyways on to the product!
I am really really impressed with this foundation. It looks and feels like your own skin once applied. Its so light, blends beautifully and actually sits on the skin, not in your pores or lines. As it’s water based, you really need to give the bottle a good shake before applying. It also looks amazing when layered.
That, and the fact that its expensive are the only downsides. Seriously.
Its easily one of the best foundations I have ever used.

    >I absolutely love this, I can only imagine how wonderful it would look on really good skin as it makes my blotchy red skin look better than anything I have ever tried before. I have already informed OH that as GHD straighteners are an absolute requirement and will need replacing immediately if they ever die so to is this foundation. Even if we dont eat for a week as a result!x

    >I must be the only person unimpressed with this product :-0.. I tried it when it first launched, and I just found it too much like a tinted moisturiser and i actually found it didnt layer well on me at all. Maybe it was my skin at the time, I will have to try it again

    >I love it, honestly I can't believe how good it is. I usually don't believe all the hype when a new product comes out you know?
Jenny, what skin type do you have?

I would go for this over the others if you have combination skin, it gives good coverage but it both glowy and not too drying x

Ahhh I *love* this foundation.. May I just ask, what shade are you in VL Aqua?
I am Greek, and though I tan very easily in the summer to look like an Egyptian (I’ve actually been told that *by* Egyptians) I am very very pale. NC20 in MAC is always too yellow for me, and in Face & Body I have found that C2 is my closest match..
In lack of a B20 at my local counter, I picked up a sample of B10 to try the texture and all that jazz, and finally purchased this shade as well. I do find my skintone to be very similar (if not identical – but, oh well, there’s a lot of lighting and screen resolution factors interfered to be 100% sure 🙂 ) to yours, so, I was wondering, what shade do you use?

There was a video on YouTube where you were using that foundation and I think you mentioned your share, but I can;t find it, it seems to have been taken down 🙂
