Top five lipsticks

Top five lipsticks

I seen so many of these posts and also videos on You Tube so I thought it was time to get involved!

I am definitely a big lipstick girl. I know some people are more into gloss and that’s fine, but I generally feel a bit naked unless I have a bit of lippy on. I’m completely against nude shades (anyone else like that??) – I just don’t get the natural looking thing, so all of my lipsticks are either mega bright and statement-y or provide just enough colour so that I avoid looking natural! :)

Top five lipsticks

My current top five lipsticks are:

MAC Lady Danger - Nearly a classic at this stage, I love the orange verging on red shade and it gives a really decent matte finish. This is probably one of my most used statement type lipsticks.

Topshop The Damned – I feel like this is a more wearable version of MAC Rebel. It’s what you would call a lustre finish, less on the matte side of things, and delivers more of a warm medium toned berry shade instead of the super dark purple you see in the bullet. Although it looks a bit scary it’s actually really lovely and wearable.

YSL Rouge Volupte Shine no.13 Pink in Paris – I have a lot of Rouge Volupte favourites but this one is my most worn. It’s a fresh rosy pink and it’s probably the one that gets the most use day-to-day as I think it’s work appropriate (review here). Also, look at the packaging! I’m a sucker for it.

MAC Viva Glam Rihanna – A very recent addition, I’m completely obsessed with this shade. I’ve never owned a lipstick like it, a bright red with a serious amount of gold shot through it. So gorgeous and unusual. Full review and swatch in this post.

MAC Dreaming Dahlia – Another recent addition and one that I’ve decided will be my shade of the summer. It’s a lustre finish, orange-coral shade that’s not too in your face but still quite obvious. You can see it on my face in this post.

So there we are! Are any of these in your top five lipstick list?

If you like the texture of the Rouge Voluptés, you should try Too Faced La Crème lipsticks, they are so balmy and creamy, but the colour payoff is amazeballs :)
